Glen Washington -Still One Of The Greats

At the forefront of reggae’s story, you have to call the iconic names. Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Freddie McGregor, Bushman, and Glen Washington. As the singers who carved a way for others to follow.

When those names stood predominant, reggae was at the forefront. Real reggae.

Glen Washington was in that room then. He’s still in that room now. That’s why he’s still one of the greats.

But this is not about the old chapter. This is a different chapter in his career.

Born in Clarendon in 1957, starting as a drummer under Joseph Hill, touring with Leroy Sibbles and Gregory Isaacs, jamming with Stevie Wonder, first hit “Rockers Not Crackers” in 1978, then immortal with Brother To Brother in 1996 and “Kindness For Weakness” and “Rise and Shine” in 1999 — that chapter is written. 33 albums deep, Grammy-nominated, world-toured.

The new chapter is structure and visuals.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA , October 1, 2026. Reggae veteran Glen Washington signed an exclusive management agreement with Donsome Records, LLC led by Adrian “Donsome” Hanson.

It’s not a hype deal. It’s a comfort and structure deal. Hanson has been around Washington since 2020’s “Holding On To A Feeling.” There is trust. There is respect for legacy. And there is a clear plan to protect what was built while pushing it forward.

“We see the music, the business and my future the same way,” Washington said.

That structure is already showing results.

OUT NOW!!

Just weeks after receiving Grammy Nomination Certificates at Courtleigh Auditorium in Kingston for his contributions to Capleton’s _Still Blazin’_ and Third World’s _Ain’t Giving Up_, Washington has released his new official music video:

Glen Washington – Sweet Loving And Affection (Official Music Video)*

The single follows his recent album “Just Giving Thanks” (Tad’s Records) and singles “Sound Victory” & “My Elusive Dreams” but “Sweet Loving And Affection” is a statement. Lovers rock, done by one of the masters who stands beside Beres and Sanchez.

The Donsome plan is now in motion: expanding touring to Australia, New Zealand, China, Africa, Latin America and Europe, securing his catalog and publishing, and handpicking collaborations that introduce him to younger fans without changing who he is.

From drummer to Studio One icon to global great — Glen Washington has lived many chapters.

With “Sweet Loving And Affection” out now, this next chapter is looking like the sweetest one yet.

“He’s still one of the greats. Watch the video and you’ll see why.”
