Define revolution? Define what is or who is a revolutionist? These terms and verbiage has been around for ever. Pick an empire they have been through that. Are you or do you consider yourself a revolutionist?
We all know Marcus, Nanny and all the revolutionary minds that have come through. Bob Marley is seen as the musical genius who used his music to spread love and set the tone for revolutionary Reggae music.

We have a an artist now doing the rounds. His name is OJ ThaGreat.. His style is eclectic. His views are seen or considered radical. His music is a clear reflection of his thoughts. He’s the writer and singer behind the song “Revolutionist”. That’s the track that’s doing its rounds in the Reggae circuit. He’s smart he’s intelligent but most of all he’s about the culture and his people. The track Revolutionist came naturally as he said. “The instrumental spoke to me. Like my ancestors were reminding me of who I am.”
I wrote that track knowing it was needed. The song is being played heavily in all the Reggae arenas. It’s also part of the “REVOLUTIONIST 89”. Which seems to be a packaged 3 piece of dropping this autumn. The texture of the project which he’s coined a chapter. Is all about a vibe. He’s been in the studio from before the summer crafting the project. Working alongside Push A Yute Ent they have tailored a vision that sees OJ expressing versions of his art and his catalog. Working along side producers like Runkus, Vivian, Space Age Rasta and the internal team.

This seems to be one for the Reggae Heads. The wave is here and OJ ThaGreat along with the New Age Rockers is bringing something much needed in the space of Reggae and Jamaican culture. We were allowed to hear the new project “Revelation” and we are very aware of where the project is going and who is OJ ThaGreat. It’s easy to say this new EP will be a chapter we won’t want to miss.
Go support this artist and the movement and keep a close eye on his performances which seems to be the talking point.
