Art is just a reflection of life. Artist were always thought to be rebels and spoke on taboo topics that most people were afraid to address. Art over the past decade started to feel motionless, saturated and lacked the joy that came with it. Same can be said for the music industry. With that came a lack of creativity and no pushing of boundaries. The joy was literally lost. We have now started to experience a slight resurgence especially in the showmanship and showcase department of entertainment.
Everaldo ‘Evie Pukupoo’ Creary, previous member of roots reggae dub poetry band No-Maddz and more recently known for his role as Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry in the Bob Marley: One Love Movie (2024). Has released a new track titled “POTHOLE”. When Rocksteady meets Dub and you get an artist like Pukupoo you will get magic. This track is special. It’s a reminder of the yester years where we Reggae ruled and Max Romeo and King Busta was leading the wave. Now Poku has put his twist on a controversial topic which is women and the ones we chose and how love is seen.
The track is sang using metaphors and similies to carry his point across. He does in such a humorous fashion that you can’t help but love the delivery. The original one drop feel of the Reggae bassline plays to the rhythmic bounce of his cadence and delivery. If you’re into Reggae and you’re into humor then this is a track designed for you.
Go support the latest track coming from Pokupoo who has always delivered a piece of art we can talk about. Out on all major platforms..
