Rich Culture

Good day readers and patriots. As we continue to explore the culture and all it has to offer I would like to use the revival of shows and festivals across Europe to give us every opportunity to feel proud of how far we’ve come. The disputes online pertaining to low sales and streams of music has given also the illusion that (our) culture is dying. Well I’m hear to say the opposite. It’s thriving. It’s growing.

The team here at Urban Vine Media has attended and assisted in several of the festivals across the continent of Europe. What we have discovered and safely can say is Jamaican culture is spreading like wildfire. We had 6 countries having festivals and promoting Jamaican culture and lifestyle with some of our best Reggae and Dancehall entertainers. What was also very present was Jamaican Cuisine from Jerk Chicken, Ackee&Saltfish to Fry Dumplings. Now when you add a pallet of assorted Jamaican food and the fact Rastafarians also dominate the headlines and they mainly carry a vegan diet well it allows us to dive even deeper into culture and what we bring to the table.

Jamaican culture is as eclectic as our music, food, spirituality and all. We saw Vybz Kartel on stage with Drake, sold out showcase. PopCaan on stage with all the superstars and everyone seemed comfortably in place. Its like the set was made for them. Reggae Land saw their best numbers since inception over 17k people celebrating Caribbean and mostly Jamaican Culture. Take note of the title. REGGAE LAND. The fact the badge and mandate is Jamaican and being sold to the globe is what’s exciting. We saw Chronixx performing songs from his highly anticipated album. We saw Spragga Benz give us a master class in performance and a reminder of his stardom. JAMIT in Italy saw a full week of our culture being advertised and well received in the town of Salento. A brain child from an artisan by the name of Joan Webley. Anthony B alongside Justess Joan wowed the crowd on the final night. Author and Spoken Word artist Simone Fruittree Dewar had a well received night by the pool side. She was scheduled for day 2. The point Im making is how different aspects of the culture is being received. Doing pieces from her latest EP and more. Reggae Jam in Germany saw some of the veterans reminding us that their catalogs still sound as fresh today as when they first came out. Chuck Fenda had a great showcase. Protégé, Lila had a solid performances. Amlak Red Square was representing Reggae and Rastafari in the festivals in Montenegro which was as scenic as any movie set could be on the coast.

We are still aiming to be at Reggae On The Lake. Rototom is also if not the biggest Reggae festival in the EU. So it’s back to the original convo and point. We are global. The culture is steadily doing well. We’ve been worried about how the future looks. From where we are standing the present is the future. The generation that’s looking to dominate a decade from now. They look like Chronixx, Lila, PopCaan, Skilli Beng, Mortimer and many more.

The culture is doing what the culture is suppose to do. Please do your part to ensure that your offspring is aware of the greatness of
