What does brand Jamaica mean to you? What does brand Jamaica mean to the world? Well let’s have a little dialogue as a diaspora. Are we doing a good job of exporting brand Jamaica and are we doing a good job of importing the brands that are needed to collaborate.
We will be looking at it from an entertainment and musical standpoint. The enterprise the amalgamation of brands and how we are positioning for 2025 and beyond. Reggae and Dancehall is again filling Stadiums. The shows and showcases from Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel, Aidonia, Alkaline and others is clearly showing a resurgence in market share. Is it due to the music? Or is it due to good branding accompanied with good music. These are the questions I would like fellow artisans to examine. Are these products and brands any different from some of these Fortune 500 companies. No they are not.

t’s basic common sense marketing backed with consistency. Aidonia just celebrated 20 yrs in the industry. Good music, good branding and staying away from products and deals that don’t elevate his brand. Vybz Kartel has always been renown for branding himself and seeing the merch, bi products and everything affiliated with his brand. He’s endured a lot and also knows how to sell the story while selling his products.
Buju Banton a Reggae icon. Now seen as an activist. Now seen as a leader, a spokes person for the indigenous people. The ability to reinvent while staying relevant. The music has always been the vehicle and Now the shows are exactly what they are. An arena to offer his services which he does very well at and with.
This article is just to highlight that brand Jamaica can be sold. Brand Jamaica is palletable. It’s about selling the diversity and the culture. What we are selling is intrinsic values to our fans and patrons.
Not everyone will be the same or have the same magnitude and effect. What everyone can copy and accept is that brand Jamaica can be packaged and be sold. And so can you.
